Comet the Wolf

Probably my first animal character that I've ever created even before I joined TLK. I was inspired to draw him agian from one of my favorite artists, Falia. ^^ Originally, he was just an alpha male wolf; now his background has been updated a bit as well as some of his appearance.

Throughout history, many unexplainable things have occured -- people who could see into the future, animals who could tell when a disaster was coming even before it hit, and now wolves with strange and unique abilities.

A pack of wolves dubbed the Shadow Clan have the "gift" to change any animal they wish into a Shadow creature. These "Shadows" are pure black creatures with glowing red eyes who all have the ability to transform any creature into a Shadow, usually other wolves.

When Comet was just a pup, his pack was attacked by the Shadow Clan. Comet's father, the alpha of their pack, tried defending it but the Clan was too strong, not to mention they were out numbered. Comet's mother knew that he had a strange ability to turn invisible at will and told him to do so to escape, even if he was the only one to live (or not be turned into one of them). Comet at first refused to leave his family, but his mother and father insisted he'd get away. After some firm persistance from his parents, Comet finally became invisible and scampered off without the Shadow Clan even knowing.

However, Comet was not out of trouble yet, afterall, he was only a pup so he was very vulnerable. It was very lucky that he came across a young girl around 16 named Reiny who had lived in the woods in a log cabin with her mother and father. She took care of Comet and even sewed for him 4 leg socks to keep him warm in the winter with a crescent moon and 3 claw marks on it.

When Comet grew older, he often left Reiny's home to go exploring in the woods, but one day while chasing a racoon, he was ambushed by the Shadow Clan yet again, and this time they surrounded him so there was no way of escape. They began closing in while he stood there paralyzed, not able to think fast enough. All he could think of to say was "What have you done with my parents?" They never answered him, and instead began attacking, tearing at him and ripping his leg socks from him that Reiny made, leaving only one left. They tore out fur and nawed on his legs while he tried his best to fight back, but it was him against about 15 of them. He would have died if the Shadow Clan's leader, Crane, hadn't showed up. He was furious with his followers and scolded them, telling them that they were only to warn Comet that one day they'd be back for him, not to kill him. Thankfully, Crane offered Comet a mouthful of healing herbs to help his wounds, and then fled into the night with his pack.

Comet never understood why Crane just didn't finish him off then and why he wanted him alive and well, but he did know that that meant he had something big planned for sometime in the near future, most likely some big battle between good and evil. Through all of Crane's ruthlessness and evil deeds, Comet still senses there might be some good in him yet, but that didn't stop him from forming his own pack to help him win th battle against Crane. This meant leaving Reiny though, but it was only for a time, he hoped. So now, alpha male of his own pack of wolves, Comet's destiny is to defeat the Shadow Clan and take his revenge on them for the death of his parents and older pack, and at the same time, try and find some way of convincing Crane that he isn't as evil as he leads on.
